Business Dynamics and Challenges

Business Activities: Nyakale Apparel Enterprise (Pty) Ltd t/a Thumamina Scooter Deliveries is a wholly black youth owned business enterprise founded and registered by Mr. Kagiso Fana Nyakale in 2022. The business is based in Delmas, under the local municipality of Victor Khanye, offering delivery services for local private individuals and businesses. The company currently owns nine (9) delivery motorcycles which are all operating. The company has a signed contract with KFC and is also working with other retail stores such as Mc Donald, Steers & Deboniars, Spurs as well as other local retail grocery outlets. Through the Exxaro and Sedfa Pitch for Funding competition the business was able to buy five (5) additional delivery motorcycles, creating new job opportunities for the local youth.
Challenges/Needs: THE CHALLENGES. • The day the client was introduced to Seda. Client was first on-boarded as Sedfa client in October 2024, following the business successful application to participate in the Exxaro-Sedfa Pitch for Funding competition. Assessment of the business was then conducted using the Small Business Assessment Tool (SBAT) and the following challenges were identified: 1. Limited Delivery Motorcycles. Business was operating on a limited number of delivery motorcycles, which limited the business to expand its client base. This also led to decrease in business competitiveness and was also attracting number of customer dissatisfaction. The business was in need of capital to acquire more delivery motorcycles in order to cope with the increasing demand for its service offerings.
